Import Telegram Desktop Accounts

Use the Telegram Desktop tdata folder to sign in to TG-Downloader without a verification code and troubleshoot missing data paths.

If Telegram Desktop is already signed in, TG-Downloader can read its tdata session instead of requesting a new verification code.

Steps

  1. Open Accounts → Add Manually and choose Desktop Data Login.
  2. Enter a unique namespace.
  3. Choose the Telegram Desktop data folder.
  4. Enter the local passcode if one is configured.
  5. Click Login.

Default locations:

SystemLocation
macOS~/Library/Application Support/Telegram Desktop
Windows%APPDATA%\Telegram Desktop

Data was not found

If you see Telegram Desktop was not found or No Telegram Desktop data found:

  • Telegram Desktop is not installed.
  • It has never been signed in.
  • It uses a portable installation; choose the folder manually.
  • It was signed out, so tdata contains no valid session.
