1. What is TG-Downloader? What can it do?
TG-Downloader is a Telegram download tool with a modern graphical user interface (GUI). It helps you easily download videos, images, documents, and archives from Telegram channels and groups. Compared to command-line tools, it offers an intuitive interface and supports advanced features like batch downloading, automatic monitoring, and multi-account management.
2. How do I log in to my Telegram account?
Go to the “Account Management” page and click the “Add Account” button. The software supports three login methods:
- Verification Code: Enter your phone number, receive the code in your Telegram App, and enter it.
- QR Code: Scan the QR code on the screen using your mobile Telegram App.
- Desktop Session Import: If you are already logged in to Telegram Desktop on your computer, you can directly import its session.
3. What types of links are supported for manual download?
The software supports message links from public channels and private groups.
- Public Channel: e.g.,

https://t.me/c/1234567890/123 - Note: To download content from private groups, ensure the logged-in account has joined that group; otherwise, downloading is not possible.
4. What is “Auto Monitor”? How do I use it?
The “Auto Monitor” feature allows you to subscribe to a group or channel, and the software will automatically download new messages as they are posted.
- Setup: Click “New Monitor” on the “Auto Monitor” page and enter the group/channel link or ID.
- Filters: You can choose to download only specific file types (e.g., only videos) and set “Skip Duplicates” and “Max File Size Limit”.
5. Why do I get an “Insufficient Points” error when downloading?
The software uses a points system to manage server resources and download quotas.
- Free Users: Have a fixed daily free point quota, which resets the next day.
- Point Consumption: Downloading files consumes points.
- Solution: If points are exhausted, you can wait for the automatic reset the next day, or go to “Settings” -> “License” to redeem an activation code and upgrade to VIP membership for unlimited or higher point quotas.
6. What if the download speed is slow or the connection fails?
This is usually caused by network connection issues. Please try the following:
- Go to “Settings” -> “Network”.
- Configure the Proxy Server: Supports HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols. If you are using a VPN/Proxy tool, please enter the corresponding local port (e.g.,
127.0.0.1:7890). - Click Save after configuration, and the software will connect and download via the proxy.
7. Where are downloaded files saved? Can I change the location?
By default, files are saved in the software’s default download directory.
- View Path: You can see the current save path in “Settings” -> “Download”.
- Change Path: Click the folder icon next to the path to select a new save location.
- Auto-Categorization: It is recommended to enable the “Create Folder by Group” option, so downloaded files will be automatically sorted into subfolders named after the group for easy organization.
8. Can I log in with multiple accounts to download simultaneously?
Yes. The software supports multi-account management. You can add multiple Telegram accounts in “Account Management”. When creating download tasks or setting up monitoring, the software will use the currently selected account. You can also flexibly switch accounts to utilize different account permissions.
9. How do I get a VIP activation code?
Activation codes are usually released or purchased through official channels. Once you have a code, go to “Settings” -> “License”, paste your code in the “Redeem Activation Code” box, and click Redeem. Upon success, your account will be immediately upgraded to enjoy VIP benefits.
10. How do I update the software?
It is recommended to check for updates regularly to get new features and bug fixes. Go to “Settings” -> “About” and click the “Check for Updates” button. If a new version is available, a prompt will appear; please follow the instructions to download and install.
